The Bilga police have booked Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and its engineer on the charge of causing death by negligence.
Investigating Officer (IO) Nirwair Singh said the alleged accused engineer has been identified as Davinder Singh of BSNL and a resident of Daulat Pur village under Kangra police station in Himachal Pradesh.
Harjinder Singh a resident of Umar Pur Kalan village complained to the police that the accused engineer and his company forced the deceased Samual alias Gori (25) to repair a damaged underground telephone cable in a Haudi in Pati Mehana, Bilga village without any safety belt who died due to suffocation when a large mass of the earth(landslide ) fell on him and buried him who died on the spot
IO said a case under section 106(1) of the BNS (304-A-causing death by negligence- of the IPC) has been registered against the engineer and BSNL company.
