Seven booked for assaulting villager, criminal intimidation

 

NURMAHAL

 The Bilga police have booked seven persons on the charge of assault, criminal intimidation, and rioting.

Investigating officer (IO) Ashwani Kumar said that the accused had been identified as Manjit alias Babu, Sami Nath resident of Rupe Wal village, Dilpreet of Mehsam Pur village, Amrit of Sang Dhesian village under Goraya police station, Sandeep of Rupo Wal village and Arni of Begum Pur village.

Ranjit Singh a resident of Nagra village complained to the police that he was on his well on the July 10 evening when the accused riding on motorcycles came there and attacked him with weapons injured him and threatened him with dire consequences.

 

IO said a case under sections 118(1),191(3) 190,351(2) of the BNS (-324-voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means, 506-criminal intimidation,148 and 149-rioting - of the IPC) has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
