Travel agent booked for duping man of Rs.2.70   lakhs

 

NAKODAR

 The Nakodar Sadar police have booked a travel agent for allegedly duping a man of Rs 2.70 lakhs on the pretext of sending his son abroad.

 Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), the instigating officer in this case Kulwinder Singh Virk, said that the accused has been identified as Ramesh Kumar alias Mesha a resident of Malluwal village under Mehat Pur police station.

Kechal Chand a resident of Bhodi Pur village had complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police that he had paid Rs 2.70 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his son’s migration abroad. However, neither did he was sent abroad, nor did he return the money.

 

 

DSP said a case under sections 420 (cheating) and 406(breach of trust) of the IPC and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act 2014   had been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
