The Shahkot police have arrested a villager for outraging the religious feelings of a co-villager.
Investigating officer (IO) Gurnam Singh said that the accused has been identified as Amrit Pal Singh son of Malkit Singh a resident of Bau Pur Khurd village near here.
IO said a case under sections 295 (Injuring or defiling a place of worship, with intent to insult the religion of any class),323,324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means), and 506(criminal intimidation) of the IPC was registered against the accused.
