The Shahkot police have arrested a villager on the charge of supplying liquor.
Investigating Officer (IO) Balvir Chand said that the accused had been identified as Sukhraj Singh a resident of Jaffar Wal village.
IO said that the accused was driving his car (PB57-9346) and was intercepted at a Naka on May 31 but did not stop and ran away. He was chased and left his vehicle near Jaffar Wal village and fled leaving his car and 10 bottles of illegal liquor were recovered.
IO a case under section 61/1/14 of the Punjab Excise Act was registered against the accused and impounded his car.
