The Nakodar City police have arrested a villager for cheating and conspiracy.
Investigating office (IO) Dilbag Singh said that the accused had been identified as Manjit Kumar son of Dev Raj a resident of Bath Kalan village under Mehat Pur police station.
Sukhjinder Singh a resident of Mudhan village had complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that the accused with common intention tampered with land records and sold land mortgaged in his name and thus cheated him.
IO said a case under sections 406(breach of trust) 420(cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused.
