District election officer-cum-Deputy commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal and SSP Jalandhar Rural Dr. Ankur Gupta today led the security forces in a flag march to further enhance the sense of security amongst people for free and fair Lok Sabha polls 2024 for the Jalandhar parliament constituency.
Today leading the security forces here, DEO Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that the district administration was firmly committed to ensuring a level playing field for all candidates/ parties by making elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of polls.
Addressing the civil and police officials, DEO made it clear that “ the district administration will take stern action against any kind of violation of the model code of conduct ".
He said that nearly 16.42 lakh voters would be able to cast their votes without fear at 1951 polling booths which all will be covered with webcasting/observers etc.
Urging the people to report any violation of MCC on C- Vigil and at RO/ARO level, Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that the nearly 90 complaints regarding MCC violation have been disposed of within the given frame.
He also asked the people, especially the 39000 newly registered youth voters for maximum participation in voting besides performing the duty as a torch bearer of ethical voting.
Meanwhile, SSP Ankur Gupta said that adequate security arrangements were already in place in rural areas of Jalandhar. SDM cum ARO Gursimran Singh was also present on the occasion.
