Couple among three travel agents booked for duping woman   of Rs 18 Lakhs

  The Lohan Khas police have booked three travel agents including a couple for allegedly duping a woman of Rs.18 lakhs on the pretext of sending her abroad.

Investigating officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Vikas Thakur son of Kashmir Singh a resident of Har Gobind Nagar Jalandhar, his wife Deeksha Thakur, and his brother Rahul Thakur.

 

Harpreet Kaur wife of Hardip Singh a resident of Gidarr Pindi village complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (ssp) that she paid Rs 18 lakhs to the accused for facilitating her migration to Canada, but she was not sent abroad nor returned the money. IO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating) , and 120-B(criminal conspiracy)of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
