Faridkot police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested one person,Sukhdeep Singh alias Mintu, a resident of Nahian Wala of Bathinda district and claimed to have recovered 46 kg of poppy husk from his possession.
A case against the accused has been registered at Sadar police station Kotkapura on the complaint of SI Charanjeet Singh under section 61/1/85 of NDPS act.
The complainant said that the police party was driving towards village Kasam Bhatti when it saw Swift car parked along the roadside near the bridge of canal between Hari Noan and Kasam Bhatti.
The car driver tried to dash away his vehicle but was stopped.
During the search, two poly gags of poppy husk were recovered from his position and the accused was arrested from the spot.
