Girl from Bathinda tops state board in commerce

                Ms Simranjit Kaur, a student of Shahid Sipahi Sandeep Singh Government Senior Secondary School, here has topped the state in Commerce stream, class 12th, under the Punjab School Education Board Mohali by securing 494 marks out of 500 in the results which were declared today.
                Disclosing this here today, Mr Shiv Pal Goyal, District Education Officer, Secondary Education, Bathinda said that the student had brought laurels to the district and the school. He added that the Parasram Nagar School had been doing well in academics and sports and had been declared a school of excellence by the state education department.
                Mr Gurmail Singh Sidhu, Principal of the school said that the commerce department of the school had performing exceedingly well and last year also a student of the commerce stream was placed in the state merit list. He added that the student (Simranjit Kaur) had scored 98.80 percent marks and was placed at first place in Commerce stream in the state and was placed at 6th placed in overall merit of all streams in class 12th of which the results were declared today.
                Ms Simranjit Kaur, who felt elated and emotional at her marvelous success, thanked her teachers, Ms Meenu Bala, Ms Geetinder Pal and Ms Saroj Rani for guiding her. She added that she wanted to become a Chartered Accountant and would pursue her further studies at Chandigarh.
                The school staff including Mr Gurpeet Singh, Ms Satish Kumar, Mr Rajnish Kumar, Ms Veerpal Kaur along with all school teachers were present on the occasion.
