The Nakodar Sadar police on Sunday claimed to have busted a gang of snatchers with the arrest of its two members and recovered from them snatched items.
The investigating officer (IO) Jasbir Singh said the police has received a piece of information that the accused were roaming in Nakodar with the intention to snatch and were planning a snatching incident at a cremation ground near Seham village and were arrested and have been identified as Amandeep Singh alias Amna son of Sukhchain Singh a resident of Mohalla Gahrriyan, Nakodar and Sukhjiwan Singh alias Jiwan son of Des Raj a resident of Mira Pur village.
IO said that the accused are habitual snatchers and case under sections 379-B (snatching) 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property) and 34 (committing a crime with the common intention) have been registered against them and their two accomplices Gopa a resident of Kakkarr Kalan village in Shahkot and Kasu a resident of Mohalla Rehman Pura, Nakodar and recovered from their possession three snatched motorcycles and sharp-edged weapons.
