The Nurmahal police have arrested a villager on the charge of criminal trespass.
Investigating officer (IO) Bodh Raj said that the accused had been identified as Lakhwir Singh a resident of Uppal Khalsa village.
Jaswant Singh, a resident of the same village, had complained to the police that the accused ploughed his two canals of paddy crop, raised boundary lines between fields, and tried to encroach on his land.
IO said that a case under sections 447(criminal trespass) 427(mischief) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the IPC was registered against the accused.
