Returning Officer Alka Kalia received as many as fourteen nomination papers for the bye-election of the 34-Jalandhar West Assembly Constituency on Friday which is the last day for filing nominations.
District Election Officer Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that Aam Aadmi Party candidates. Mohinder Pal, Congress Party candidate Surinder Kaur Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Surjit Kaur, and others have submitted their nominations.6 candidates filed nominations as covering candidates,9 candidates filed nominations on Thursday, and 3 candidates on Wednesday, and a total of 35 nomination papers have been filed
He said that June 21, 2024, was, the last date for filing nomination papers with scrutiny scheduled for June 24, 2024. Candidates can withdraw papers on June 26, 2024. Voting will take place on July 10, 2024, and the results will be announced after counting on July 13.
