Given the Lok Sabha Elections, the District Administration today imparted detailed training on C-Vigil, Election Seizure Management System (ESMS) to all Assistant Returning Officers, Flying Squads, and Static Surveillance Teams. Presiding over the training session at the District Administrative Complex here, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vishesh Sarangal said that the C-Vigil, ESMS applications have been prepared by the Election Commission of India which would go a long way in conducting the elections fairly and transparently.

Divulging more about the C-Vigil App, . Sarangal said that the model code of conduct has come into force after the announcement of the elections. Any citizen can file a complaint through photo or video on this app if there is any violation of the Model Code of Conduct. He further said that as soon as a complaint is registered on the app, it must be resolved within 100 minutes. He directed the teams concerned to ensure that complaints received on the app are resolved at the earliest so that immediate action can be taken in case of violation of the model code of conduct. Giving details about the Election Seizure Management System, the Deputy Commissioner said that this app was also developed by the Election Commission of India for real-time updates from the field regarding the seizure of various items like cash, liquor, drugs, etc. during the Model Code of Conduct.
 
The DC said that this system will further improve coordination between various enforcement agencies. He stated that the purpose of this training is to ensure strict adherence to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India regarding the Lok Sabha elections. He directed the officers to strictly follow the instructions given to them so that the entire election process could be carried out smoothly. Detailed training on the Election Seizure Management System (EPMS) was given by Assistant Nodal Officer Hatinder Kumar through C-Vigil and Nishchay Behl through PPT.
