The Nakodar Sadar police have booked a village youth on the charge of kidnapping a minor girl.
Investigating Officer (IO) Amrik Singh said that the accused has been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi son of Balbir Singh a resident of Billi Charahmi village under Shahkot police station.
Sukhdev Singh a resident of Seho Wal village complained to the police that the accused kidnapped his minor daughter Harman Preet by inducing her on the pretext of marriage.
IO said that a case under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366-A (Procuration of minor girl) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
