The Jalandhar (rural) police on Wednesday conducted a special operation ‘Operation CASO” ’ for searching and rounding up suspicious persons for their verification at vulnerable places, including railway stations and bus stands, in all the five subdivisions
The operation was conducted on the directions of the Director General of Police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav.
Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police Mukhbindar Singh Bhullar said in a press note that ADGP Arpit Shukla personally supervised the operation in Jalandhar(rural) police district.
Apart from checking at bus stands and railway stations special nakas were set up under the supervision of Superintendents of Police (SPs) in the district for a thorough search of suspected vehicles/persons while ensuring minimum inconvenience to the public.
The operation was conducted in a synchronized manner from 7 am to 12 am across the district.
SSP said 35 houses were checked in this operation and Calandra under section 110 of the Cr.P.C was filed against 5 persons in Phillaur.
