Nakodara: The Mehatpur police have arrested   a woman bootlegger for selling illicit country made liquor. Investigating Officer Bagicha Singh said that 9 bottles of hooch were recovered from the accused identified as Paramjit Kaur a      resident of Khehra village.  A case under section 61 /1/14 of the Excise Act has been registered against the accused.

The Punjab government has sought a report from director health and family welfare on Nakodar resident’s complaint against a government doctor doing private practice in civil hospital here. Superintendent health and family welfare department in an official communication to director said that you were directed earlier to send a report of investigation of the matter involving complainant but of no avail. Four drug peddlers arrested with intoxicant powder

The Lohian Khas police have arrested a drug peddler for selling intoxicant powder. Investigating Officer Jiwan Kumar said that 83 grams contraband was recovered from the accused identified as Sandeep Singh a resident of Tarewal village in Ferozepur and impounder his motor cycle.  A case under section 22 /61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused.
