One booked for cheating of Rs Three lakh in lieu of Punjab Police job

NAWANSHAR: District police today claimed to have booked a person for cheating of Rs three lakh in the garb of ‘managing’ recruitment in the Punjab Police.

Acting on the complaint of one Virsa Singh of village Burj Tuhil Das, who alleged that one Bhupinder Singh took Rs three lakh from him for managing a job in Punjab Police for him, after thorough investigation in the allegation, a case of fraud has been registered against the accused in Behram Police Station, sources said.

A case under sections of 406 and 420 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused in the concerned police station and efforts are on to arrest the accused.
