Pharmacy degree colleges can start diploma pharmacy from 2017-18

Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA said that now the colleges can temporarily reduce their intake against the seats which were not being filled and later on can restore whenever needed without National Board of Accreditation (NBA). “This will help in reducing the financial burden and other resources from the ailing unaided Colleges” Kataria added.

Giving more relaxation to the ailing education Industry, AICTE has permitted Pharmacy Degree Colleges to start Diploma Pharmacy courses with the existing resources available with them. This decision would help the colleges to increase their revenue and reduce their cost.

It is to be mentioned that in year 2017-18 there are total 14543 AICTE approved Institutions out of which 4469 are Diploma Colleges, 4408 are under Graduates (UG) Colleges, 5666 Post Graduate (PG) Colleges in India.
