Jalandhar : A Formula One car is a single-seat, open cockpit, open-wheel racing car with substantial front and rear wings, and an engine positioned behind the driver, intended to be used in competition at Formula One racing events.
The regulations governing the cars are unique to the championship. The Car fabricated by the students of CT Group of Institutions under the Formula One regulation specifies that cars must be constructed by the racing teams themselves, though the design and manufacture can be outsourced.
Outsources used for the F1 car are Engine: 796cc of Maruti 800, No. of Cylinders: 3, Fuel: Petrol, Transmission: 4 speed manual, Maximum Power: 40 Bhp, Suspension of Front: Wishbone Type and Rear: McPherson Strut.
Outsources used for the car are Petrol Engine: 796cc of Maruti 800.
The team of 11 students of CT Institute of Engineering, Management and Technology including Gurpreet Mehmi (Team Leader), Sukhdev Singh, Dheeraj Pal, Hari Bahadur Adhikari, Jaswinder Singh, Monu, Naresh Kumar, Shubham Uttam, Sukhwinder, Karanvir Singh and Pankaj Pal fabricated the car under the supervision of Mr. Rishu Dhiman.
Gurpreet Mehmi (Team Leader) said that the chassis of formula one car is made up of circular steel section which helps in lowering the weight of the vehicle. For proper weight distribution and to lower the center of gravity weight is added in the front of the vehicle. The chassis is first designed and simulated on Solid works to get the desired results.
Er. Gautam Kocher (Principal, CT Polytechnic College) informed that the Conventional Battery Ignition System is used in the vehicle while Hydraulic Disc Brakes are used on all wheels with the help of tandem master cylinder to given even lock down of all wheels. It has liquid cooling system.
S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) and Dr. P.S. Bedi (Campus Director, CT Group of Institutions) applauded the efforts of the students in designing and creating this wonderful Formula One Car.
