While congratulating the project, S. The smart wheelchair has been designed and developed by a team of six students – Parveen Kumar, Rajat Choudhary, Rohit Sankhyan, Shuvam Goraya, Karan Nagar and Bablu. They informed that thissmart wheel chair, is a tricycle with an integrated electric motor which can be used for propulsion, it uses rechargeable batteries and the lighter varieties can travel up to 25 to 32 km/h (16 to 20 mph), depending on the laws of the country, while the more high-powered varieties can often do in excess of 45 km/h (28 mph), they are replacing fossil fuel-powered mopeds and small motorcycles.

Rajat Choudhary further explained that the Smart wheel chair is mechanically controlled device designed to have self mobility with the help of the user command. This reduces the user’s human effort and forces to drive the wheel for wheel chair. Furthermore, it also provides an opportunity for visually or physically impaired persons to move from one place to other. The wheel chair is also provided with obstacle detection system, which reduces the chance of collision while on the journey.
