Sidhu meets Rahul Gandhi

NEW DELHI : Former Indian cricketer and former Member of Parliament from Amritsar Navjot Singh Sidhu today met Rahul GandhiVice-President of the Indian National Congress party.

The meeting went on for about 40 minutes. This meeting gave a hint of Sidhu joining Congress.

As Congress has only released one list of 61 candidates for 2017 polls, it is expected that Sidhu's name may be included in the second list for his possible candidature from Amrtisar (East) assembly segment.

Sidhu resigned from the Rajya Sabha on July 18, 2016, fuelling speculation that he may join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). But later, on September 2 he floated the 'Awaaz-e-Punjab' front.

His wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu had joined the Congress on November 27 along with Olympian and ex-hockey Captain Pargat Singh.
