Foundation stones for University Institute of Technology & Evaluation Centre Buildings laid at GNDU

Amritsar: Prof. A.S. Brar, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University laid the Foundation stone for University Institute of Technology (UIT) and Evaluation Centre at University campus, here today.

Prof. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registar, Prof. K.S. Kahlon, Dean Student's Welfare; Prof. T.S. Banipal, Director Research; Prof. Anish Dua, Professor Incharge (PR); Er. H.S. Tinna, Incharge Bhai Lalo Construction Department and staff of engg deptt were also present on the occasion.

On this occasion, Prof. Brar said that the State of Art four storeys building for UIT would cover area of 107000 sft and estimated cost of this building is 17.65 crore. He said that the objective of UIT is to provide quality technological education to the students especially of remote area of the region. He said that 18 labs, 17 lecture hall/classrooms, 01 workshop, 01 library, 02 conference hall and 29 rooms for head/faculty would be constructed in this building. The four storeys building with basement for Evaluation Centre would cover the area of 40000 sft and estimated cost of this building is 6.26 crore.
