Woman bootlegger arrested with 9 bottles of hooch

Nakodara: The Mehatpur police have arrested   a woman bootlegger for selling illicit country made liquor. Investigating Officer Bagicha Singh said that 9 bottles of hooch were recovered from the accused identified as Paramjit Kaur a      resident of Khehra village.  A case under section 61 /1/14 of the Excise Act has been registered against the accused.

Government seek report against doctor for private practice

The Punjab government has sought a report from director health and family welfare on Nakodar resident’s complaint against a government doctor doing private practice in civil hospital here. Superintendent health and family welfare department in an official communication to director said that you were directed earlier to send a report of investigation of the matter involving complainant but of no avail. It said that   a report in this regard should be sent to government.

Eleven years on, Nurmahal police station building yet incomplete

 In the year 2006 police station Nurmahal was located in a private building. People of the town took initiative and donated six kanals 18 marlas land belonging to Patti of the town and spent Rs. 25.00 lakh for the construction of the building for police station Nurmahal. However government authorities took no further action to complete the building. The 6 kanals and 14 marlas land stands mutated in the name of common owners.
